The Mini Crowns Drop is a limited series of 12 hand-sculpted works each measuring 18" x 18", reflecting the crown of thorns placed on our Savior's head. Created to confront, convict, and comfort, each piece invites you to remember what was done for you, and what’s now available to you through Jesus Christ.
These 12 crowns are a small but symbolic offering pointing to the fullness of what Christ has established through His death and resurrection. No two pieces are alike, but every single one declares the same truth: Jesus is KING. We live because He died and defeated death on the cross.
Where it started
This project began in September 2024. I got this strong idea—very specific, very clear. It was a conviction in my heart.
I believe it was the Holy Spirit. I felt led to create a large 36" x 36" mixed media artwork inspired by the crown of thorns Jesus wore on the day he was crucified. I had never made anything like it before. It didn’t look like my usual work. But I knew I had to make it. God gave me the vision and clarity on how to begin.
I talked to my mom about it. She encouraged me to move forward and even suggested launching it on Easter Sunday. So I did.
And there’s more than meets the eye.
Each sculpted crown is finished with a specialty pigment that shifts from black to purple, red, orange, and gold — a spectrum that tells its own story. These are the colours of mourning, majesty, blood, fire, and glory. The beauty comes alive when touched by light, just like the truth it represents.
Each crown will rest on a background layered with handwritten scripture from the Gospel of John. These words tell the crucifixion story, and they live beneath each sculpture, holding it up, just as the Word holds us.
